What is Xmas for me?

Christmas is a way to escape the normal routine, to do something different that makes you feel away from everything that's bad for being happy. As my rastafari friends would say in this case "I'm high dude!" (just kidding). What I meant to say is that the chrismas holidays let you get in another dimension where everything is alright: People loves themselves and the others, there are presents,.... Christmas is happiness for everyone who knows how to feel proud of themselves and people around 'em. It's just a week or less but is like an emergency exit for students and people who works hard. For me isthe best season in the year because i can see my family together, unbreakable, UNITED.

Christmas is pretty funny!!!!

My favorite horror film

It's very difficult to have a favorite horror film if you just have seen one. So in the hypothetical case I had seen lots of them and I could be crytical I would choose the only one I've really seen.

SLEEPY HOLLOW

Sleepy hollow is my favorite horror film because is the only one I've ever seen. It is directed by Tim Burton so it's very logicall that Johny Depp is the main character, and that things are very strange and sometimes no-sense. This film is about a detective that has no faith, so, he uses science to proof everything. For this reason, the judge sends him to Sleepy Hollow, a lost village in the countryside.
There he is told that there is a headless horseman ho is cutting heads of everyone who appears in his way. So he beginsto investigate. inally he recovers the faith when he sees that not everything is proofable by science.

Suspense

The director of the film Psycho is Alfred Hitchcock and the autor of the novel is Robert Bloch, in the horror films the characters are the victim or the victims, the murderer that causes the murders, and the witnesses, they watchs sometimes the murder. The technic they use at the camera is the fast scennes and a lot of action when the scen pass. They normally change between two frames (murederer and victim) very fast for making you feel scared. Psycho is a good example in the shower scene when the murderer and the victim are alterned in the frames.

Psychollogical horror

Psychological Horror is an element of fiction, not tied to a particular genre (it manifests itself in many stories which are not identified as "horror stories"), which aims at creating horrific or unsettling effects through in-depth use of psychology.
A good example would be Edgar Allan Poe histories, that normally make you understand character's madness and feel strange as if you had understood the fatal effects of it.
A good example is the short story: "The black cat"

comic relief

The comic reliefs are little scenes that are not scary. Normally you face directly the monster and you have time enough to laugh at it. This scenes are normally de precessors of the scariest scenes of the film. They are used for relaxing a bit before getting really scared.
A nice example would be Chucky the diabolic toy because there are lots of comical scenes when you face him and his madness!!! :)

Example of a C1 writting exam!

Hey Carlo;

Well, the experience of working for "Adventure & fun CO." wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. At the beggining, they ask you to help them to plan activities for them but when you do, you have to ask for an appointment to the manager of each activity.

When kids arrive, you have to ask each one in your group for the signed parents authorisations. You have to call each of their parents for telling them that their sons or daughters are there and alive. The second day is the hardest one because you have to tell the children what they are going to do even if they are Chinese, Canadian, Argentinian, or even Russian. We normally use Engllish for understanding each other but we are able to use other languages such as French, Spanish, German,... The first week is the hardest but then we relax a bit.

During the month you'll be pretty busy and you won't have time for activities, you'll just look how people have fun while you keep working.

I don't know if this year you will do it, but, last year, we had to prepare a presentation for important English people and It was satisfying to see that my English had improved.

Definitely the last day is the best one because you do an activity! I chose canoeing and I had lots of fun.

About what you asked...I think you should choose according to everything I told you, but, if it helps you, you get very well paid!!

Hugs, Pau.

the gothic novel

The Gothic Novel

The GN was invented by Horace Walpole by having written "The castle of Ortano" in 1764.

It has some characteristic elements such as:
  • Using a haunted castle as the main place
  • Playing with suspense and mystery
  • An ancient prophecy
  • omens, portents, visions,...
  • Supernatural or otherwise unexplicable events
  • High, even overwrought emotion
  • Women in distress
  • Women threatened by a powerful, impulsive, tyrannical male
  • The metonymy of gloom and horror

What makes me feel...

Happy?

I'm happy when positive things happen and even more if i have participated on making them become real! I think that working in postive things is good for yourself and people around you. I'm happy when I help somebody or when I am close to the sea, I don't know why, but when I am, I hear its sound, I feel it cold in my feet, and all worries disappear... The sea is what makes me feel special, and normally, I use to take advantage of all its conditions ( huge waves, strong winds, cold breeze,...). I love to be a guest on this blue immensity. When a wave comes towards you is when you're able to see how small you are, and you think everything you've done, was it really important? When I' happy I like to make other people feel happy.

Sad?

I feel sad when I am alone (talking about no one understands you, etc. Physically I like to be alone). Before it was usual because I had lots of social problems in my old school but now I'm happier and I don't use to have this feeling. Even though, I am sad as well, when I'm frustrated for not getting an important objective or when I argue with somebody who is important for me. When I'm sad I like to disappear for two or three hours and think about all I've done. I stop being sad saying "sorry" or "how can I solve it?"

Stressed?

I feel stressed when I have too may things to do at the same time and I can't. I am stressed when I can't solve a problem too. Feeling stressed is normal at my age: exams, homework,... It can be very stressful to have somebody annoying you everyday! Probably he thinks that he is funny, but people are not laughing with him, they are laughing at him, but they can't see anymore than that. Fighting stress can be easy, relaxing is the solution!

Kitesurfing

The kitesurfing is a sport that is growing up inside the watersports world. It's impressive for its huge jumps, its powerful tricks and its danger. Kitesurfing is a sport that was invented in "Nouvelle Calédonie", close to Australia. There a man thought that if kids used little kites for playing and with the strong winds they got blown away, he could use even bigger kites for pulling of his boat instead of rowing.
From that crazy experiment kitesurfing appeared. First it was used with surf boards for catching big waves, but later on, a new discipline appeared: the freestyle. At the beggining it was basically focused on huge jumps, board grabs and rotations. Then it evolved to the new school style that was completely amazing. From jumping big obstacles to powerful air manouvers like inverts or things like that. After a few years, the security increased and a new kind of style began to appear in the young crazy people. Tecnically it's not difficult, but you need balls to do this. This style is nmed "King of the air" and consists in jumping higher than your opponents. I'll post some vids about big air, new school and old school:

Multiple inteligence test

So, these are my results about my multiple intelligence test, they are quite good I think, the thing wich in I am less intelligent is in my interpersonal aspect(I think it is true) and my best aspect is Naturalistic one( I've got a 100%). I agree with this test and I think is a good way to see what you should reinforce!!!!

Animal in me

Wolf
Genus and species:
Canis Lupus
Collective Term:
A pack of wolves
Careers and Hobbies
Law enforcement
Soldier
Medical fields
Trial Lawyer
Team sports
Outdoor activities
Theater
Debating
Famous Wolfs
Christian Slater
Bill Clinton
Hillary Clinton
The rugged wolf is athletic, good-looking and brimming with self-confidence. A close relative of the domestic dog, it is stronger and more aggressive, managing to generate notoriety wherever it marks its territory. The wolf's dark reputation is mainly due to jealousy of its consistent success in work and romance. A wolf in full stride is quite impressive. Firing orders at subordinates while on the phone to customers, no one can get the job done quite as efficiently as the wolf.
With an innate understanding of the value of teamwork, it's always ready to take its place in the chain of command either as leader or as simply a member of the pack. When a wolf decides to innovate, it makes sure that it has the backing of a capable team. The wolf is clear-headed and strong-minded, always willing to compromise in the interests of getting a job done.
Wolves are facially expressive and readily communicate their emotional states with body language. They work hard at developing their social relationships, although unlike their cousin the dog they are quick to anger when they sense threats to the social order. When confrontations occurs, they sometimes react suddenly and violently, barking displeasure at offending subordinates. Close companions know to avoid their biting tongue until they resume their normal gregarious behavior.
Wolves are intensely ambitious and never shy from hard work. Socially adept, they function well in leadership and management roles as well as in jobs requiring vision and strength of character. Being a natural motivator, their instinctive understanding of group dynamics serves them well in goal-oriented tasks.
As bosses, wolves demand absolute loyalty and they provide the same allegiance to their employees. Their ability to perform under pressure helps them attain the highest executive levels, and with strong communication instincts they maintain a constant stream of notes, letters, and email to coworkers. Their instinctive understanding of the chain of command makes wolves excellent soldiers or law enforcement officers.

I don't agree at all because some of my answers are not really related to the description of the wolf but most of the things in here make me feel refleced in this so, hope you enjoy seeing if you are a wolf as well.

MY DREAMS

My most ridiculous dream is becoming kiteboarding world champion! I know that probably I'll never get it but there is a little possibility of becoming one of those air fighters! I haven't got level enough and in at least 5 or six years I won't know many tricks but i know as well that if I spend every windy day on the water I will progress as kitesurfer.

And my other dream is related to kiteboarding as well. I'd like travelling to thailand and spending the whole wind season in there. It would be amazing!!!!!! I will have some problems as the money, the house,.... But if I keep some money and I go there with a friend, I'm sure I'll do this at least once.
