The most concerning aspect about Artificial
Intelligence nowadays, goes around the comparison between men and authomats. We’ve
always believed that the human mind is perfect and unique in all its aspects,
and that there is no way to beat its logic with human creations. Last Thursday 14th
this topic was destroyed by a robot that beat a world champion playing go, a Chinese game which is more
complicated than chess.
Our fears have been confirmed. A machine can beat a
man. First advice, we have stepped too far and there is no way back. This is
the kilometre zero of robot’s supremacy.
Let’s think about this: If you give to a machine the
order to improve itself and the possibilities to do it, it will be improving
itself constantly until it becomes intelligent. The digital intelligence is
more than a hypothetic sentence today, it’s a fact. Further than any other
concerning topic, we are giving power to the machines, and we don’t know how
they are going to handle it. We don’t even know if the feedback they will show
us will be positive.
In my opinion it’s a big mistake. We shouldn’t try to
beat ourselves, it’s a fight. Talking from my point of view, I wouldn’t fight
against myself with an external creation. My mind can only be beat by my own
mind. Self progress and improvement, but from the insider part of my brain, not
from something which is externalized with authonomy to beat me. But it’s just
an opinion.
The other way I see, is a future world where machines
notice they are superior. Since they’ve been created by mankind, their essence has
the human sins involved, so they will use their supremacy if they arrive to
have conscience of it. Is the future a period of supremacy for robots? A human
decadence? Will the son kill his father for having his privileges? I expect to
have a future that finishes before these questions can be solved!
